Florida Striders Fall Half Marathon Class

The Florida Striders will be conducting a 14-week half marathon class this fall! The class begins on September 14, and will culminate in the running of the Ameris Bank Jacksonville Half Marathon on December 18. Classes will meet at St. John’s Country Day School for track work on Wednesdays at 6 o’clock in the evening, and then on Sundays at the IHOP on Blanding at 6:30 in the morning for the long runs.

The class will be open to beginners and advanced runners, alike, but anyone signing up for the class must be currently running at least 3 times per week, for a minimum of 3 miles or 30 minutes. The training schedule will have you running 4 times a week.

Head over to our Running Classes page for further details, and to download the flyer and entry form.

February's 2015 Social

Tonight after a COLD group run we enjoyed a evening learning about running the trails of North Florida from Fellow Strider Jean Schubert. Jean works as a Parks Naturalist Supervisor for the City of Jacksonville. Jean gave an informative interactive talk tonight about the plant life and animals (and snakes) you may encounter while on a nature walk, off road ultra or trail run.

Pizza and beverages were provided as always.
