February's Social

Tonight after a COLD group run we enjoyed a evening learning about running the trails of North Florida from Fellow Strider Jean Schubert. Jean works as a Parks Naturalist Supervisor for the City of Jacksonville. Jean gave an informative interactive talk tonight about the plant life and animals (and snakes) you may encounter while on a nature walk, off road ultra or trail run.

Pizza and beverages were provided as always.

January's Social

Amazing turnout tonight for the Florida Striders January social!!! It was so nice to see old friends and meet new running buddies! A huge thank you to Jen and Marilyn from Preferred Nutrition Services. Very valuable information If you have any nutrition concerns, contact these ladies!!! Thank you 1st Place Sports and Denise Krepshaw-Metzgar!!!!!!!!!

Unforeseen problem at the Resolution Run on 1/17/2015

Early this morning while in the process of setting up for the Resolution Run we were made aware that one of our vendors had failed to set up saftey equipment for the running on the Hwy US-17 part of the 10K course. Since we didn't have the proper equipment mandated by the State of Florida to close the road (US-17 - a portion of the 10k course) we had no choice but to make the entire race a 5K. There was discussion about running the 5K course twice, but was not feasible in the time we had and would not have been a certified course.  Had we known of a problem in advance we have could have made other plans. We are very sorry for having to change your race plans at the last minute.
